Welcome to the 21st lesson of the course “From Absolute Beginner to a Confident Speaker”. We will learn with you today the Ordinal Numbers 0-100 and House vocabulary in the Ukrainian language. Let`s get it started!
Ordinal numbers
In the Ukrainian language, ordinal numbers have gender, number and case distinctions.
For example, 1st – перший, -а, -е, -і.
This is my first smartphone. – Це мій перший смартфон.
This is my first book. – Це моя перша книга.
-What is the date today? – Яке сьогодні число?
-Today is the 31st of January. – Сьогодні тридцять перше січня.
Ordinal numbers 1-10
1 – перший, перша, перше, перші
2 – другий, друга, друге, другі
3 – третій, третя, третє, треті
4 – четвертий, четверта, четверте, четверті
5 – п’ятий, п’ята, п’яте, п’яті
6 – шостий, шоста, шосте, шості
7 – сьомий, сьома, сьоме, сьомі
8 – восьмий, восьма, восьме, восьмі
9 – дев’ятий, дев’ята, дев’яте, дев’яті
10 – десятий, десята, десяте, десяті
11 – одинадцятий, одинадцята, одинадцяте, одинадцяті
12 – дванадцятий/а/е/і
13 – тринадцятий/а/е/і
14 – чотирнадцятий/а/е/і
15 – п’ятнадцятий/а/е/і
16 – шістнадцятий/а/е/і
17 – сімнадцятий/а/е/і
18 – вісімнадцятий/а/е/і
19 – дев’ятнадцятий/а/е/і
20 – двадцятий/а/е/і
30 – тридцятий/а/е/і

Exercises
Exercise 1. (Вправа 1.) Use ordinal numerals due to the gender of the noun.
For example, Це наш 5 візит. – Це на п’ятий візит.
1.Це мій 1 скейтборд. 2. Це вже її 2 телефон. 3. Я пишу 9 речення. 4. Я їм 4 яблуко. 5. Вона читає вже 3 правило. 6. Я дивлюся вже 5 відео. 7. Я обираю 6 номер. 8. Це моє 1 кохання.
Exercise 2. (Вправа 2.) Use the correct form of ordinal numerals.
For example, 14 слово – чотирнадцяте слово

Exercise 3. (Вправа 3.) Open brackets and make agreements between a noun, ordinal numeral, and adjective.
e.g. (1 білий) машина – перша біла машина
1.(2 важливий) момент. 2. (11 довгий) хвилина. 3. (1 незабутній) досвід. 4. (5 смачний) яблуко. 5. (1 університетський) друзі. 6. (15 складний) правило. 7. (5 червоний) роза. 8. (13 чорний) кава. 9. (1 білий) сніг. 10. (10 екзотична) країна.
